We thank all of the artists who submitted their work and commend each artist for their creativity and effort. Participating artists hailed from Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Russian Federation, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, and the United States.

We were excited to see the variety of work submitted to this year's abstract mind competition. Submissions for The Abstract Mind presented a compelling range of inspirations, methodologies, and conceptual approaches unified by the theme of abstract expression. Recurring themes included the transformative role of emotion in driving artistic exploration, the importance of intuitive and subconscious processes in shaping creative outcomes, and the interplay between reality, imagination, perception, and identity. Many artists explored themes of nature and the environment, using abstraction to celebrate ecological vitality and advocate for its preservation. Others focused on resilience and transformation, turning personal and societal challenges into reflections on growth and renewal. Spanning diverse media—including painting, digital art, sculpture, and mixed techniques—the works draw on influences ranging from historical movements and cultural heritage to technological innovation. Collectively, these submissions express a shared commitment to fostering dialogue, both within the self and with audiences, highlighting abstraction as a universal language capable of capturing complexity, ambiguity, and freedom of interpretation.

We are very pleased to announce that Robin Garofalo and Jay Peterzell are the Purchase Award winners. We will be acquiring Robin Garofalo’s sculpture Brass Canary and an abstract charcoal drawing by Jay Peterzell.
