Artist Statement
There is a tension between subjective expression and observation in my work. In this series of ocean paintings, the use of color, pattern, and light draw the viewer into the work, yet present in these enticing aquatic environments exists elements caused by man-made pollution and climate change which threaten the existence of these fragile ecosystems so essential to all forms of life.
