Paulina Grondal was born in January 1989 in Cracow, Poland. She studied Graphic Design at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Art in Cracow and Journalism at the Jagiellonian University, Cracow. She specialised in animation, and mixed media. Language and letters play an important role in her work; she combines visual art with language play and her experience as a journalist. Her works have been presented in publications and exhibitions around the world.

Artist Statement

My work is a merge between visual arts and language. It comes from my fascination with letters and the visual aspect of their forms rather than their function. I have been working for years on my visual works and written pieces, because both language and fine art are very close to my heart. Until I merged my visual works with language, I felt unfulfilled by the result of my efforts as the message felt incomplete. All of that changed when I discovered the combination of the two.
